What is your role at Ground Up? What does your day-to-day look like?
I have the best job! My primary role is to offer unwavering support and guidance to the talented womxn on the team as they navigate their journey with Ground Up and make decisions about what comes next. I’m here to offer practical assistance, such as partnering to build resumes, and improve interview skills. I’m genuinely grateful to have the opportunity to work with this exceptional team and to be their cheerleader!
What has your experience with Ground Up been like?
It all began in 2018 when I first discovered Ground Up at New Seasons Seven Corners, and was immediately inspired to get involved. Over the years, I’ve taken on various roles, including being a demo rep, helping with holiday preparation in production, and most recently as the job coach. Each step of this journey has allowed me to connect with the mission and the amazing womxn at Ground up!
What is the community at Ground Up like?
This community is so inclusive and inviting for everyone! I wish all organizations modeled themselves around a similar environment. It truly radiates positivity and is always a highlight of my day to be in the office.
What do you like to do for fun?
I find joy hosting friends and gatherings, often surrounding playing Catan. When it’s time to recharge and get out of the city, you’ll find me on the Oregon Coast with my partner and our two pups.
How do you stay motivated?
My motivation is grounded in witnessing the success of everyone within the organization! It's a powerful reminder of the impact we can make on each other, especially when we work together. It’s about community!
What are your favorite ways to #spreadgood in your community?
I love supporting all of our treasured small businesses sprinkled throughout the city by shopping local and supporting small all times of the year!
Who is one person who inspires you and why?
One person who truly inspires me is my dear friend and former colleague, Hannah. Her strength and incredible talent, both on and off the stage, are nothing short of remarkable. She’s truly my partner in crime and someone I am endlessly grateful for. Her support, dedication to her community, and enthusiasm is truly exceptional.
What is your favorite Ground Up nut butter flavor + favorite way to enjoy it?
I’m a huge fan of the seasonal flavors, but my all time favorite is Coconut Cardamom Chia Seed with a fresh Honey Crisp apple!
