Women's Month Gift Guide
In honor of Women's History Month, we want to highlight some of the incredible women that we are privileged to know and work alongside. These women are changing the food and beverage industry for the better—each with their own unique mission, but the shared goal of creating companies centered around creative positive change for people and for our planet. We hope you enjoy, an maybe will find a new brand or two to support!
Some deets on our favorite products (starting from the top left, going clockwise):
Kate's Ice Cream: Kate makes the DREAMIEST dairy-free ice creams! We've always had so much fun collaborating with her on our limited-edition Waffle Cone nut butter... which may be returning this year. ;) Stay tuned! Don't miss our She's Empowered Spotlight on the founder Kate.
One Stripe Chai Co.: We used to share a commissary kitchen with Farah, the founder behind this chai company, and let us tell you: the smell of chai brewing is one of the most intoxicating smells. We just launched a limited-edition nut butter with them: Masala Chai! Infused with their chai blend, it's sweet, spicy + bold.
Mizuba Tea Co.: Mizuba's founder Lauren sources her matcha directly from Japanese farmers, making her teas the purest and highest quality we've tried. Their Kokoro Japanese Ceremonial Matcha is absolutely incredible—but if you're just getting into the matcha game, we also recommend her Matcha Set with a beautiful ceramic bowl and whisk.
Trade St. Jam Co.: This Brooklyn-based company makes healthier-for-you, pectin-free jams and we are OBSESSED. Check out our spotlight on the founder Ashley, and don't miss out on our limited-edition Nut Butter + Jam Pack featuring their Blueberry Lemon Basil Jam.
Diaspora Co.: We partnered with Sana, the founder of this spice company on a mission to create a more equitable (and delicious) spice trade, on a Spicy Tahini flavor last year. Not only is their mission incredible, but their spices are by far the best and most flavorful we've ever tasted! We're love cooking with her spicy Sannam Chilli powder.
Golde: Founded by partners Trinity and Issey, Golde is committed to making superfoods more accessible—and their Cacao Turmeric Latte Blend is a great place to start! Packed with superfoods and antioxidants, it's the perfect pick-me-up or coffee mix-in.
Honey Mama's: I don't think we can gush enough about how much we adore Honey Mama's founder Christy. She's been a mentor to us throughout our own entrepreneurial journey—and her decadent cacao truffle bars are what fuel us every day. (Truly, you should see our work fridge which is stocked full of them!) Caro's fave flavor is Tahini Tangerine but Julie loves the traditional Dutch Cocoa!
Mylk Labs: Healthy oatmeal cups for when you're on-the-go. (Which, even during the pandemic, somehow it still feels like we're too busy for breakfast!) For a sweet + healthy on-the-go breakfast, just drizzle our Snickerdoodle nut butter over their Almond & Himalayan Pink Salt Oats. And check out our She's Empowered spotlight on founder Grace!
Just Date: This Date Syrup is a healthy, natural way to sweeten up your favorite dishes + baked goods. Check out our limited-edition Macadamia Nut butter featuring their date syrup, and read our She's Empowered spotlight on founder Sylvie!
MAGICdATES: We recommend keeping these magic little Dark Chocolate Covered Coconut Bites (or any flavor, tbh) handy at all times. They will (healthfully!) satisfy your sweet tooth and give you the energy you need to power through that mid-day slump. And check out our She's Empowered Spotlight on founder Diana Jarrar!
Freeland Spirits: One of only a few women-owned and women-run distilleries in the world is run by our friend (and incredible powerhouse) Jill Kuehler. We love all of Freeland's handcrafted, small-batch spirits, but their Geneva Gin is our go-to. (Some of you may recall we hosted our cookbook launch party at their beautiful NW Portland space a couple years back!)

UMMMM – just saying these are all processed, all fancy web pages, and all wearing the right labels – only where is the FARMER, the GROWER, the product that needs no throw-away packaging – are women not willing to go there???
