About Ground Up PDX: Ground Up is a small-batch nut butter company on a mission to spread good by providing job skills training to women overcoming adversity. Through our 6-9 month employment training program, women gain the confidence and skills they need to get back on their feet. We produce peanut-free, honey-sweetened nut butters in flavors such as Coconut Cardamom and Cinnamon Snickerdoodle. Our products are sold in New Seasons, Whole Foods, Fred Meyer, and other PNW and California retailers. The Ground Up team currently consists of 18 people.
Join the Ground Up team to drive sales for our unique and healthy nut butters with a mission. We are looking for someone to bring on new independent, natural and specialty grocery accounts nationwide, as well as to help maintain and organize our current wholesale accounts. This individual will work closely with Ground Up’s co-founder, Julie Sullivan to help grow our impact and broaden our retail footprint beyond the 350+ stores we are currently in.
The Sales Representative must be outgoing, organized, results-oriented, self-motivated and passionate about our mission to empower women overcoming adversity. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who thrives on a challenge, won’t take no for an answer, and enjoys engaging with new people. From cold calls to in-person store visits, this role requires energy, scrappiness and perseverance.
As Sales Representative, you will focus primarily on maintaining relationships with our current boutique and independent accounts, as well as generating new accounts by building strong relationships with key buyers and store personnel. Responsibilities will include:
- New Lead Generation: Pursue and generate new wholesale accounts through cold calling, emails, store visits and determined follow-up (28 hrs/week)
- Account Management: Communicate with current wholesale accounts and keep our wholesale CRM organized and up to date (5 hrs/week)
- Sales Support: Analyze sales data, tracking key metrics and pulling reports when necessary, and creating sales sheets and other sales marketing materials (4 hrs/week)
- Grocery Store Support: Check in with grocery stores (sometimes in person) regarding product stock, shelf tags, promotions, and more (3 hrs/week)
The Sales Representative will be evaluated based upon monthly sales targets, and will have the opportunity to earn commission for any new inbound sales they generate. This role is ideal for a seasoned sales maverick, or for someone who is keen to learn more about sales in a flexible, start-up environment.
