Meet Melissa, one of our kitchen crew + fulfillment team members! She is a hard worker and is always willing to learn new tasks in order to help out + hop in when needed. We are grateful to have her on the Ground Up team!

What has your experience with Ground Up been like? How has it helped your self-confidence? 

Working with a group of womxn dedicated to improving the lives of others, both through healthy food and the training program, has reminded me there is good in the world. 

What does it meant to you to have a job opportunity and be back in the work force?

My experience with Ground Up has helped me rediscover my enjoyment of being in the workforce, and being able to provide. 

What is the community at Ground Up like? What does having this community mean to you?

The community at Ground Up is extremely supportive, such an environment has been very inspirational. 

What do you like to do for fun? 

Cook and bake, swim, travel, music and concerts.

What is your favorite Ground Up nut butter flavor + favorite way to enjoy it? 

Sweet Potato Pecan Pie straight out of the jar!

What do you hope to do after Ground Up? 

Get my Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf Certification and serve the Deaf Community. My dream job is interpreting concerts.
