What is your role at Ground Up? What does your day-to-day look like?

I’m the Sales & Marketing Coordinator at Ground Up. No day is the same but generally, my work involves coordinating event logistics, maintaining relationships with our wholesale accounts, and generating new wholesale accounts. 

What has your experience with Ground Up been like? 

My experience so far has been lovely! I love working alongside welcoming, inspiring, and hard-working people. And I feel so lucky to work somewhere that holds such an impactful mission of empowering women through job training. The work feels exciting and meaningful. I’m so glad to be a part of the team! 

What is the community at Ground Up like? 

The community here is welcoming, intentional, and kind. This is truly an environment where everyone feels invited and encouraged to learn and grow and be themselves.

What do you like to do for fun? 

In my free time I love to thrift, write poetry, try new restaurants, and rock climb! I can just as easily be found curled up with a good book, cooking with my friends, or watching a favorite movie.

How do you stay motivated? 

I stay motivated by taking small steps that eventually lead to the end goal. Sometimes a goal or task can feel big and daunting, so breaking it down into smaller goals definitely helps. And celebrating all the small victories along the way!

What are your favorite ways to #spreadgood in your community? 

I’d love to find an organization to volunteer with on a regular basis. In the meantime, my favorite way to #spreadgood in my community is by being generous where I can, and by prioritizing supporting local small businesses, especially those that are BIPOC/queer-owned.

Who is one person who inspires you and why? 

My best friend, Olivia, inspires me. She is so unapologetically herself. She has the biggest heart and is so thoughtful and intentional with the way she approaches friendship. I’ve been so lucky to have her in my corner for 10+ years. 

What is your favorite Ground Up nut butter flavor + favorite way to enjoy it?

My favorite flavor is Cinnamon Snickerdoodle. I also really liked the seasonal matcha flavor and hope we bring that one back soon! I usually eat it on toast or add it to a smoothie or protein shake.
