Since joining the Ground Up team, Kim has experienced a powerful transformation — discovering confidence, self-worth, and a renewed belief in what’s possible for her future. A proud graduate of our job training program, she’s not only mastered new skills, but also found a community that uplifts and believes in her every step of the way.

What job duties do your day-to-day look like at Ground Up?

I work in production doing box prep, labeling jars, filling jars, twisting on lids, tamper taping, assisting the mixers, and mix nut butter.

What do you like most about working at Ground Up? 

Everything! But Primarily how wonderful the staff is and how they make you feel good about yourself on a daily basis.

What is a new skill to you or something new you have learned about yourself at GU?

I’ve learned I can join the work force outside of Ground up, something I didn’t think was possible.

Big or small — what’s a win you’re celebrating right now?

I’m proud to have graduated from Ground Up’s amazing job training program and the confidence I’ve gained.

How has your confidence grown since joining the Ground Up team? 

I was lacking self confidence in starting this program. I now have confidence and self worth due to this program.

How would you describe the community at Ground Up?

The community is positive and nurturing. The staff members are amazing, offering words of encouragement and praises for your accomplishments.

What does it mean to you to have a job opportunity and be back in the work force?

I want to thank Ground up for the wonderful opportunity and the boost to my self-esteem. I didn’t think I was capable of joining the work force until this program at Ground Up. It’s been such a positive experience.

What’s your favorite flavor and way to eat it?

My favorite flavor is snickerdoodle and I love it by the spoonful!
